Behind-the-scenes Help
(Low physical demand, good for short shifts and behind-the-scenes helpers)
• Filing past years in the storage room
• Data entry (as needed)
• Organize boardroom cabinets (excluding ASK cabinet)
• Newsletter preparation (end of February)
Cleaning & Facility Care
(Hands-on, short-term tasks that can be done solo or in pairs)
• Wipe down walls, baseboards, and fridges (kitchen/dining)
• Vacuum carpets (offices/altar)
• Dust blinds, tops of radiators, and polish pews/altar
• Scrub indoor & outdoor trash cans (weather permitting)
• Assist in cleaning dining room after busy lunch
Organization & Storage
(Good for detail-oriented volunteers)
• Assist with organizing/sorting food room
• Maintain/change High St. sign
Decorating & Creative Tasks
(Seasonal or skill-based opportunities)
• Seasonal decorating (next holiday)
• Do sanctuary blackboard (artsy volunteer)
• Update/create display boards
• Print out photos for displays
• Magnet making (as needed)
Kitchen & Meal Support
(Time-sensitive, service-oriented roles)
• Helping with meal prep (during busy periods)
• Buying a few non-perishables while grocery shopping
• Dropping off items at food kitchen
Program & Event Support
(Scheduled or as-needed roles)
• Weeding support (after Mother’s Day)
• ASK set-up (Wednesdays)
• Resource fair (when needed)
Errands & Miscellaneous Help
(Flexible, fill-in tasks)
• Run some errands (TBD)
Outreach & Communications
(Great for volunteers who can’t be onsite)
• Share STM & Soup Kitchen on social media
• Write positive reviews
• Create short social media posts encouraging others to donate/volunteer
